It is at the site of Yashiro Castle park, participating with Kumamato Art Police 92. Landscape, small hill covered with grass in front of the architect, Glass Atrium entrance, library hung down from the ceiling like the space ship have quite nice harmony with the the green fields.
It exhibits the historical art and craft works, fork art works, as well as the miniature of ancient ritual parade. Art seminer and special event are seasonally hold .

The Kumamoto Prefectural Arts & Crafts Museum was established in 1982 and exhibits traditional prefectural arts & crafts. The collection includes more than 3,000 ancient and contemporary items. Special events by regional artists are held every week.

The Kumamoto International Folklcraft Museum was established in 1965 and exhibits traditional arts & crafts from around the world. The collection includes more than 3,500 items of pottery and porcelain, lacquer ware, woodworks, metal works, stoneworks, glassware, bamboo works, leather crafts, dyeing and weaving, paper crafts and brush paintings.
Open: April to October 9:00-17:00, November to May 9:00-16:00
