The Oita Prefectural Art Museum was established in 1977 to exhibit the works of local artists as well as traditional regional arts and crafts. The collection includes modern paintings by FUKUDA Heihachiro, TAKAYAMA Tatsuo, and pottery by Bernard Leach. Bamboo crafts are also on display. Special events are held several times a year.

The Yufuin Modern Art Museum was established in 1993 to exhibit the works of local artists as well as traditional regional arts and crafts. The collection includes modern paintings by FUKUDA Heihachiro, AOKI Shigeru, KURODA Kiyoteru and 150 pieces of pottery and porcelain by ITAYA Hazan and TOMIMOTO Kenkich and other ceramists.

The Yufuin Museum was established in 1994 and exhibits classic cameras and related literatures, contemporary wood prints, swords, modern Japanese and Western paintings as well as 130 pieces of tea ceremony utensils.
